User behavior shows that a significantly high percentage of users
who activate via the podcast detailpage do so via one of the
two latest episodes. These are episodes that have been placed at
the top of the page.
It is also noticeable that users often stop listening during or after
one episode. They are not triggered to continue listening.
To my surprise it turns out that once you have listened to one
episode, the next one does not start automatically. To increase the
activation ratio and extend the listening time, it would be a great
opportunity to play episodes automatically after each other.
A lot of users want to discover new podcasts. That's why we added
a section with related podcasts to the podcast detail page.
These can be podcasts or podcast episodes based on tags, brand
or speakers. With this we expect to increase the retention of our
podcast listeners.
Users will also be able to add podcasts and podcast episodes to
their favourites. This will also contribute to retention.
Once something has been added to their favourites, users will
receive push notifications as soon as a new episode is available.
We add descriptions per episode, because research shows that this
can be a trigger for users to listen to an episode.
